Finding affirming support is an important part of well-being. Below you’ll find trusted local and national resources offering financial aid, mental health, physical health, and crisis services for LGBTQ+ individuals. Each organization provides inclusive, compassionate care designed to help you thrive.

National Suicide Prevention Hotline

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Trevor Project

Crisis counselors are trained to answer calls, chats, or texts from LGBTQ+ young people who reach out on our free, confidential and secure 24/7 service when they are struggling with issues such as coming out, LGBTQ+ identity, depression, and suicide.

Trans Lifeline

Trans Lifeline is a trans-led organization that connects trans people to the community, support, and resources they need to survive and thrive. Welcomes calls if you are questioning gender identity (ie Are not sure yet if you identify as trans).

Crisis Text Line is a free, 24/7 support for those in crisis. Text from anywhere in the USA to text with a trained Crisis Counselor.

LGBT National Hotline

Provides a confidential safe space where callers of any age can speak about sexual orientation or gender identity/expression issues. This includes coming out issues, relationship concerns, elder abuse, family dynamics, HIV/AIDS anxiety, safer sex information, suicide, and much more. Peer support volunteers are trained and identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland – Pride Scholarship

A scholarship for Northeast Ohio students who identify as LGBTQ+ and are going to,
or already enrolled in, a college, university, or vocational/trade school

Provides grants and scholarships to support the Greater Akron LGBTQ+ community.
